How to play DailyDex
DailyDex is a daily Pokémon guessing game. Identify the mystery Pokémon in five guesses using progressively revealed Dex clues.
- Start with height and weight, then enter a Pokémon name.
- Each incorrect guess reveals the next clue: abilities, Dex number, category, then the full Dex entry. The Pokémon’s name is hidden in the entry.
- A successful guess unlocks that Pokémon in your collectible Dex. You might discover a shiny Pokémon!
Everyone can play the same mixed-generation daily challenge. A new challenge starts at midnight UTC. Create a free account to save your progress across devices. Unlimited games and generation selection require an account with premium access.
Your results
Your results show your successful guess distribution and the streak for the game mode you played. Successfully guessed Pokémon unlock their Dex entries. A shiny discovery replaces the sprite in your Dex grid, and its entry shows both variants.
Daily reset
The daily challenge changes at 00:00 UTC. The same daily challenge is available worldwide until the next UTC reset.
Shiny Pokémon odds
When you successfully guess a Pokémon, you have a chance of discovering its shiny variant. Your chance depends on which guess was correct.

Shiny odds are calculated as 1 ÷ (4 × guess number + 1). An unsuccessful game does not award a shiny Pokémon.
